ok,well hold off on mid changing for now. you guys should be able to use this thread to lock/unlock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2475914

wewenk has provided a partition that shows the tampered flag should be in the same general location, but since he is not displaying the banner currently,we will need a dump of parittion 7 from H377 or someone who is still displaying the banner to determine exactly where that flag is.

So, I don't really understand the purpose of this thread?

well,obviously we didnt believe you

actually, its just as you said... a long time ago. i have several threads here and get alot of responses daily, and i dont always remember. expeically from back in november.

we also are trying to find the tampered flag,so it can work as well. plus i wanted a place to discuss with H377 how to dump his recovery and make himself up an ruu that wasnt the lock/unlock or tampered thread. maybe the title should have been something different,i didnt put much thot in to it.

hope that is a satisfactory explanation

Yes, that's correct. At least everybody can find out how to dump the different partitions now.

So it's not useless....

That's great! Thanks for clarifying. Actually, your tampered thread also works! I've tried that very same day on my own device.

if you open up a typical modern htc ruu,it will contain the above. ideally,we would want to back up and be able to restore all the same images, however, to be honest, ive no idea where some of then come from. tp for exanmple,is the touch panel firmware, but it has no place on the partition table. some things, multiple images are included for different variants of the phone, for example, dzdate 16gb,32gb,etc. i suspect sbl1-1,sbl1-2,etc. are along the same lines.

the bottom line is simply that i dont know enough about what some of the images. running a somewhat incomplete "homemade ruu" could result in a mismatch of some firmware if updates are made along the way. tp especially, needs to match the rest of the rom and firmware,or the touch screen may not work

the recomendations made in post 6 were based on the images inside a home made ruu made from the htc one GPE,posted for a full conversion of other variants. when i made up an ruu for my t mobile variant,i included all them, and borrowed the tp from an ruu of the same era(an att 4.1 ruu in my case) not completely correct, but probably good enuff to get back a working phone in a pinch.

the rest of the partitions,3,4,6,7 and prolly a couple others are never touched by OTAs or RUUs... so their backup and restore is not too big a deal, unless we change them with a hex editor, lol. if those partitions were ever included wed have to be extremely careful not to flash them,as they could turn us s on,relocked, etc.

having said all that, dont forget that running an ruu in fastboot is not the only way to restore those partitions.

everything that you have dumped, you can put back with

dd if=/sdcard/mmcblk0px of=/dev/block/mmcblk0px

so,in theory restoring all partitions just like you dumped them will restore your phone to the exact same scenario it was in when you did the dumps. ive never done it,but it should work. in a pinch you could run the home made ruu and get the phone working, then use the dd command to restore all the rest.

one last thing,doing

dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0

dd if=/sdcard/mmcblk0 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0

should dump/restore all partitions in one lump. an image of everything,in other words, and not a bunch of little seperate ones. never personally done it,but,in theory, should work

Hi there @scotty1223

Want to ask you something.
If I backup all the partition, then how to restore it?

Can I zip all the partition just like the ruu zip file?

Default QSC partition?

I wonder if you know which partition "QSC" is stored in? I assume that hboot knows which named image to put in which partition?

The reason I ask is I've slightly messed up my 802w by flashing the 4.4.2 x.x.402.x firmware when my handset was originally on 1402 Chinese firmware. Now SIM2 seems to only work on 1800MHz and not 900MHZ. Flashing firmware.zip or applying RUUs in RUU mode all give a Fail PU - partition update fail on QSC 100 except the 402 firmware - which have no RUUs so I can't downgrade or change back to 401 WWE. Oops.

Anyway I just wondered about QSC partition in case hboot checks the version and won't downgrade as I don't want to hijack the thread.
