What is the probability of E970 getting its cup of update to kitkat , if LG releases official update for Kitkat for E975 international ???
Is there a chance that e970 will get update much later than international variant ??

I highly doubt ATT will ever update this device. It's long dead for them. We'll probably get a port of the international version here if that ever actually materializes.

Current: AT&T LG Optimus G (E970) BeanStalk
ASUS Transformer TF101: EOS / KAT

Vizio VTab 1008 Stock Honeycomb (doomed to a rootless existence)

Still around: AT&T HTC Aria - Gene Poole's Liberated Aria

Gone: SGS2 i777 and random stuff dating back to an analog Mitsubishi phone circa 1996.

I'd say it's 50/50. AT&T did update the HTC One X to Jelly Bean to many people's surprise. That phone was released at the beginning of 2012. I saw somewhere on here that an official KitKat ROM for this variant (E970) does exist according to some LG documents or something. If that is true, then I sure hope AT&T decide to deliver on this one.

They sell lots of stuff that will never see an update. Anyone who buys a device for the second carrier update from stock is likely to be disappointed more times than not. Highly marketed, highly popular phones have a decent chance of getting more than one, but the rest are one and done. It doesn't make financial sense for the carrier or the manufacturer in the US subsidized phone market. I don't know a single other person, personally, who has an LGOG. Why would AT&T waste resources to update an 18 month old phone that no one has. They aren't in business to be nice to you, they're in business to make money for their shareholders.

The Dev community here kicks ass. We have a very nice variety of good, stable ROMs. Enjoy them. Buy your next device based on hardware capability and Dev community enthusiasm... because good hardware with excited developers get the best ROMs. No waiting for nonexistent carrier updates required.

That is where old phones go to die.

I had such high hopes for my Atrix. So sad that it got abandoned. At least we've got better ROMs on the LGOG.
