Thanks I will try it out when I get home. Trying to root a friends M I did my HTC M8 and used TWRP on it. Would you know of a good stock looking debloated ROM. Thanks

Not yet just getting everything together program wise so I can do it all in one shot. Going to root it unlock the bootloader do a recovery and nandroid backup. Thanks for the help

The build number says 9.8.1Q-94. If the bootloader can't be unlocked can the above still be done minus the bootloader part. Sorry if these are dumb still new to all this

You can't unlock on the last 2 updates, .94 being the latest. You won't be able to use a true custom recovery, but you can root with Safe Root. Then, you can use Safe Strap to make backups and load some ROMs.
