(1) what method did you use to root - not to sure I have superSU on screen and when I chack root checker it says fhone is rooted
(2) Have you unlocked the bootloader - yes bootloader was unlocked with DC-Unlocker client
(3) Have you installed a custom recovery - no not to sure on how to do this

Well, depends on if you need or want to back up anything. There are tons of backup apps in the Play Store and depending on how much and what you need to save, some options are better than others.

If you use the GooManager app, I believe it has an option to reboot to recovery as well. In recovery, make sure to backup your current rom and follow the directions in the post of the rom you are looking at for install instructions.
