So, quick and dirty instructions for users WITHOUT any form of CWM recovery on their device:

1) Download the attached ClockworkMod_Recovery_v5.5.0.4.tar
2) Reboot the tab into download mode
3) Fire up Odin 1.85 and put the ClockworkMod_Recovery_v5.5.0.4.tar in the PDA field.
4) Flash!
5) Reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery

Quick and dirty instructions for users WITH some form of CWM recovery on their device:

1) Download the attached ClockworkMod_Recovery_v5.5.0.4.zip to your device
2) Reboot the tab into recovery
3) Install the zip
5) Reboot

If, for any reason, you want to return to the stock recovery, simply download the P73xx_Stock_Recovery.tar and follow the instructions above (with odin)!

DISCLAIMER: THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH LTE TABS!

This ClockworkMod_Recovery version will cause an "assert" problem when flashing new ROMs. It is adviced to install one of these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...54&postcount=2

Why removing this thread?

CWM 5.5.0.4.tar is still needed to get CWM after flashing with odin!!!

Question Stuck in Download Mode
Folks,

Having a Samsung G tab 8.9--wi fi model.

Was trying to clean up and upgrade my ROM and have run into problems.

I'm using ODIN to root and install ROM..

The ODIN operation appears to be successful:

<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/004> Initialzation..
<ID:0/004> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/004> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/004> recovery.img.md5
<ID:0/004> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/004> RQT_CLOSE !!
<ID:0/004> RES OK !!
<ID:0/004> Completed..
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)
<ID:0/004> Removed!!
<ID:0/004> Added!!

However, my tablet won't reboot...that is to say, it will reboot after the ODIN operation but it boots back into download mode.

I've used...Stock Recovery, CWM Recovery and most recently TWRP Recovery....

Each time the operation is successful, but the tablet won't reboot into the system.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks in advance !

Thank you for this thread and the .tar files. I'm having difficulty with my tab that appears to never want to boot. The only recovery I can use it the TWRP supplied in last few posts. If I try CWM it just goes to a black screen. If I try a custom Rom or stock rom, re-partition with a pit file 614 add the correct boot loader etc etc, the only thing I can get is the SamsungGalaxyTab8.9 boot logo hanging.

When in TWRP it is constantly saying error E: unable to mount /data etc etc. Is there any possible thing that I can do to resolve this. Thank you.

Regards

The only other way I know is to flash it through Mobile ODIN but our device p7300 or p7310 is not supported
so if you wonna try, it might be risky

You can use the free version: Mobile ODIN Lite
