I noticed that when I check for installed updates on my Nexus 10, there is no info about why there is an update, what changes are made. When I check from my Nexus 7 or my smartphone there is. I don't apply updates to apps I seldom use.

Are you referring to the "What's New" section that shows the changelog? If so, once you've selected the app in the left column, you then need to tap on the app icon to the right when it shows up to see the info (or anywhere left of where you see the options to open, update, or uninstall). The reason that info shows up automatically on your Nexus 7 and phone is because it's a different layout. The Nexus 10 shows the tablet layout for the Play Store, while the N7 and phone show the phone layout.
