Guys I bought it on ebay. It came with 4.4.2 and its wifi and google play doesn't work. So I decided I should change it back to 4.2.2 and go from there. I have managed to get the s-off. I can change CID to anything now. I changed it to HTC__038 by Sankar24's instruction and trying to flash it back to 4.2.2 using the below zip files. Please find attached pictures.

Firmware (for Android 4.2.2):
FIRMWARE_M7C_DWG_JB_50_S1_hTC_Asia_India_2.37.720 .1.zip - 23.42 MB

CWM Nandroid Backup (Android 4.2.2):
M7DWG_CWM_Nandroid_Backup_CID_HTC__038_2.37.720.1. zip - 998.74 MB

However I'm getting an error message from the CWM recovery. Please find attached pictures for more information. What do I need to do flash ROMs. I tried changing the CID to 11111111 but no luck. Same error message as well.

I feel like I'm very close, can anyone please help me?

The firmware can be flashed only in RUU mode.
Fastboot oem rebootRUU

fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
after that restore cwm backup.
Tellme whether it works I am on line

You need to Unzip the file and copy the FOLDER into cwm directory of the phone and choose restore, make sure you disable md5 check. This is not a flashable zip file but a zip of backup image.

HTC One DS in boot loop after flshing firmware

Try this from OP: flash the FIRMWARE_M7C_DWG_JB_50_S1_hTC_Asia_India_2.37.720 .1.zip file and then restore M7DWG_CWM_Nandroid_Backup_CID_HTC__038_2.37.720.1. zip (thanks @sankar24) using CWM, you will need to disable md5 check in CWM settings.

Hello

I installed the firmware FIRMWARE_M7C_DWG_JB_50_S1_hTC_Asia_India_2.37.720 .1. All went well But now the phone is in a boot loop. It tries to boot, the HTC logo appears and then the screen goes black - and the whole thing repeats. My getvar all is enclosed.

Please help. Thanks

EDIT: Just realised - I can go to the bootloader. But anything I do, the result is same as above.

I am using the one as per your yesterday's message....
M7DWG_CWM_Nandroid_Backup_CID_HTC__038_2.37.720.1. zip

1. flash this cwm img - http://d-h.st/YE0
2. Unzip the M7DWG_CWM_Nandroid_Backup_CID_HTC__038_2.37.720.1. zip
3. Copy the above folder into cwm folder of you phone.
4. rebbot to cwm recovery, select restore and then select this backup

Make sure md5 check is disabled in cwm settings.

Perfect. Everything works now. Many thanks.
I am now on Android 4.2.2, Sense 5.0. The phone immediately downloaded software update 4.22.720.4 (833.06 MB) which it said is Android 4.4.2 update. But it cannot install for some reason. When I confirm to install, it boots to recovery, and after 2-3 seconds of recovery / installation activity, aborts, reboots to the old version. It then again informs of the available update - and the process repeats.

Any idea how to install this update?

Thanks
