Or should I root the phone now before it updates?

What is the favored method for rooting the Verizon LG G2?

I rooted while on 4.2.2. Will the OTA update (if I take 4.4.2) even work? All I've done is installed Xposed and Greenify. I haven't removed any apps, just disabled a bunch.

Thanks

I ended up removing Xposed and all of its installed modules. Then I used the PC tool to update and it worked fine.

I turned right around and rooted again, installing Xposed and the same modules. So far so good.
