Does "2nd Method - Rooting Script By dalingrin" works in KitKat?
This above *will* root with the new 4.4.2 OTA update installed. How do I know? I just did it by following, and being (EXTREMELY CAREFUL) step by step the instructions on this page: http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-root-lg-g-pad-8-3-android-4-4-2-kitkat.htmlUse ioroot.
It's not in this thread, this old thread applies only to 4.2.2

Here is a full description to get root and a TWRP 2.7.0.1 (from which you can flash any ROM) for all people who somehow ended up with stock 4.4.2 (v50020a) without root and recovery
(I ended up with it through a failed flash, which forced me to use lg tool and "download-mode")
I know some of this has been posted before, but the information is so scattered around the forum that it took me several hours to get this done.
1. root
Only ioroot25 under windows will work.

2. unlock und flash recovery rom
cwm did not work for me, so I used TMRP v 2.7.0.0 by using the script provided under step 3 in this post (will give you a working TMRP 2.7.0.0)

3. flash TMRP 2.7.0.1 while in TMRP 2.7.0.0 (not sure if necesarry, but that is the way I did it)

4. reboot to TMRP 2.7.0.1, backup your system, wipe and install ROM of your choice + gapps
I used Infected Nightly Build 20140420 which works perfectly so far.
