1. Put phone in download mode
2. Connect to computer
3. Launch Odin
4. Make sure Odin recognizes & assigned it a port
5. Make sure "reboot" is checked
6. Click PDA & load up "toltevzw_mj9_official_firmware"
7. Click GO
8. Phone will install firmware & reboot on its own
9. Phone reboots back to system/phone desktop
10. Reboot to recovery
11. Wipe everything including system files (don't wipe ExtSDcard)
12. Flash Trents ROM
13. Reboot & profit

Very nervous about doing this b/c I obviously don't want to brick my phone.
Have been putting it off for weeks.
Are my steps correct?

Many thanks in advance!
Yep, that'll do it just perfectly. The only thing I did to that in addition was a quick flash of the rom before using odin, I felt like it kind of primed the phone for the firmware, but I don't know if it is absolutely necessary.

By the way I have no sources or anything, but my thoughts were this:

The new firmware isn't necessary for running 4.3, you could flash a 4.3 rom just fine, you just wouldn't have working wifi and still be on the old radio, but no problems really. Then I just felt like being on 4.3 prior to flashing the new firmware would make it just a little better to accept it. Although, I'm pretty sure you can run 4.1.2 just fine with the new firmware, so it doesn't seem like there are any conflicts with it

Right...so when odin auto-reboots it will boot up to Trents....not my previous rom (goodness noteworthy).
But should probably reboot and wipe/re-install Trents. Just to get it to stick good.
thanks again
