A quick question (haven't got my Note 3 yet, but having seen the S5 now, I think I will be doing so). Does this kernel support changing the final stage audio gain for the headphone output circuit?

On my S3, the default level is set far too high (to make the maximum possible volume louder) and this introduces a low-level hiss which is very annoying when listening at very low volume levels in the middle of the night. I have reduced the output gain via the GoogyMax kernel from 60 to 40 (i.e. to about -17dB) which is perfect for me, but I suspect I may need to do the same with a new Note 3.

If not, any suggestions for a kernel which supports this?

Andre

Yes, that is included (these settings are available for headphone, speaker and microphone).

Many thanks, I've just ordered a Note so will keep that in mind once I've worked out the root/ROM/Knox repercussions.

I was on chrome and phone restarted itself. It's happened a few times. Does it overclocked or not. Thank you.

Strange 'cause the same thing also happens to me while I was using chrome...didn't link that to chrome but solely the kernel...but now that you are referring to the same issue...does Chrome use more Cpu power than other apps?...

It seems they are using the same msm8974 platform but only with a slightly enhanced s800 cpu - as a result they build the S5 kernel on top of the Note 3 source.

I made a small preview build if anyone is curious to try out:

I am wondering 2 things @Wootever. First can I use the above kernel in a S5 rom that I am porting to the T-Mobile N3. Second, would you be able to, if not too much trouble, make a tmo preview kernel based on tmo NCH kernel source. Thank you and I hope to get back with you soon.
