[Q] if new phone came post-OTA will that be s-off able?

if a newly purchased comes with the newer build, is it possible to achieve s-off on that?

Yes the s-off method still works with this OTA.

Yes I took the update and didn't have any problems. Just got the phone last night, took the update, s-off'ed and installed a custom recovery. All worked perfectly.

I saw this thread and thought I was Sol just picked up the m8 and reading up on s-off and root and his scared me as I wasn't aware of an ota for the m8 already.

so see if you have the new build factory installed. try s-off and let us know how it goes.

Well I didn't have the ota but I did s-off and root feels nice being able to install a custom ROM.
