Does anyone know how to get rid of the Verizon wireless branding at the bottom of the lockscreen?

if this is your first time doing it i suggest using this tool:

http://www.virtuous-ten-studio.com/

this will decompile the apk and has a built in text editor.

I didn't see anything that said Verizon wireless in the eri.xml. When I have the Sense Lockscreen on its not there, only on the stock one.

What rom are you running?
Most Aosp roms have the option to customize the Carrier text.
If the rom does not have that option, Gravity Box should work for you.

Lockscreen Tweaks > Custom Carrier Text

I'm on EclipticONE6 but using the stock lockscreen instead of the Sense one. I would like to just edit some code somewhere instead of running gravity box
