The features that S5 got and G2 lacks are irrelevant for most users (fingerprint reader, heart rate monitor, waterproof, marginally faster cpu/gpu, etc.), and nowadays it costs more or less twice the price of G2. In exchange, the main reason to get a S5 is the scene; since it will be a more popular phone, more people will be developing for it, so it has potentially better and longer unofficial support. That's the only subjective benefit I see, and maybe (JUST MAYBE) build quality might be a bit better. I won't pay twice the price I payed for G2 just for those features. I think G2 offer for the high-end range, what the Moto G offers in the in the mid-end range: a very solid and competitive product and amazing bang for the buck.
