Is Android Wear actually do anything other than showing pointless notifications???

I don't go to airports
I don't send SMS thats what whatsapp is for!
Wear is totally useless without your phone near you...
Oooo I have an email let me fish out my phone....
Oh don't look at my wrist flashing up when im holding your hand on a date ;p
