Lightbulb [Q] sim unlock options

Just a quick question i see alot of sites that offer unlocking service for GSM phones, my questions are they totally legit? IE guaranteed to work on unlocking your device for other carriers? I don't want to spend money on a scam or phony code. Just looking for advise

thanks

Flash the 4.1.1 modem. Do the procedure. Flash your current modem back. Save $20.
