Default [Q] root with android 4.4.2/knox 0x0 and tethering on t-mobile?

accidentally posted this in the general thread - reposting here

hi,

i just got a note 3 N900T being used on t-mobile. i currently have the unlimited 4G LTE plan without tethering but have been tethering just fine on my rooted old HTC amaze phone. i've read through a lot of the rooting threads here, but i'm not quite sure if it's possible to root this phone without setting off the knox counter, as it's already on kitkat 4.4.2 NB4. is there a way to downgrade to jellybean and root? how do i get the t-mobile tethering crap off and activate the native tethering capabilities?

i have a note 10.1 tablet but this is my first samsung phone - always used HTC before. sorry if there's already a post about this, there's too many different models and carriers.

No, there is currently no method of downgrading to 4.3 once on 4.4.2, nor any method of rooting 4.4.2 without tripping knox.

Really? My N900W8 that I flashed to N900T is 0x0 using this ROM. I'm running TWRP, SuperSU 1.93 on my HLTECAN and Knox says 0x0 even though 'Kernel is not SEANDROID enforcing'. They're that much different? Pardon me if this is ignorant of me.

Where you on 4.3 when you originally rooted?

I recall fully updating OTA beforehand. Was 4.4 released 2 months ago?

that was a N900W8 that you successfully flashed without tripping Knox, right? has this been done on a N900T that is already on 4.4.2? what build number do you have? Mine ends in NB4
