Default [Q] Cant delete files from sd on custom roms

Hi, I bought a galaxy s3 off ebay so I can swith to t mobile but I want to get it set up and working how I want before I actually make the switch. So I've been loading roms for 2 days and trying them out. I cant seem to delete files from the sd card when I use any rom but the stock rom. I tried KitKat, CM11, CM 10.2 CM 10.1 and custom stock (I think that's what its called). also when I use es file explorer, only some of the photos I have on the card are viewable and some appear as broken and cant be opened. But then when I go to the stock rom, they all work fine. Id really love to have a custom rom but I need to fix this problem first. Any ideas?

What is the card formatted as? Reformat to fat32 and see if it works.

It is fat 32 already.. also the camera wont write to the card when I take a picture. a popup comes up saying cant write to it and that it will save photos on the cameras internal memory. I am going to try a different card.
