I am new to this forum and android/tablets
I purchased a G-pad 8.3 (original version) and I have loaded VLC media player, my movies are stored on a samsung USB drive. I have a connector cable from USB to mini USB, but the device wont address the drive.

I have read around this forum, but there is nothing I can find to address this issue, thanks in advance, Michael.

The functionality you're looking for is USB OTG (link to wiki page). I'm guessing you need a USB OTG compatible cable for this. Not sure though, as I've never used it myself...
