Default Installing custom ROM

Hi guys, I just bought a Note 2 and rooted. Now, I want to install Phoenix Rom
Here's my setup: 4.3 MK9 preinstalled, KNOX 0x0 Rooted Baseband MJ9
If I want to install cwm (philz) I can safely flash the tar.md5 via ODIN or there's something else I must do first? I already made a backup of my efs folder

Flash cwm through odin, then flash rom from there following developer instructions.

[Galaxy Note 3 - Dr.Ketan's K6 ROM]
[Galaxy Note 2 - DN3 v4 RC2]
[Xperia Neo L - Customized Stock ICS]
GALAXY NOTE 3 - DR.KETAN'S CCR K8.1

From what I understand the boot loader is the problem just now. Custom recoveries won't work on 4.3 and above. They will result in a soft brick (I'm willing/hoping to be proved wrong)
I'm trying to read all I can about this as I'm in the same boat as you are (saferoot stopped me ripping my hair out).
I think that Safestrap might save us here but from what I've read it only works for the Verizon note 2 just now.
