[Q][VL-110][RECOVERY] Android Recovery 3e Not Working Properly

My fiance's VL-110's stock recovery seems to be damaged.

When booting into it, the menu appears as normal... (Images code-tagged due to not being able to post links yet)

...but when one presses - on the volume rocker, the menu disappears, leaving only the background shown.

The menu returns when - is pressed again. Volume + does nothing, and the power button performs the only selectable option, which is reboot.

How do I get things working as they should be?
