Default [Q] Faulty 3.5mm jack

Hi guys, I've broken my 3.5mm jack and I think I will need to send this back to John lewis since this comes with a 2 year guarantee however I do not want to lose all of my data on this device. Is it possible for me to install a recovery, Do a nandroid backup, flash it back to stock and then send it away for a replacement. So then when I get my new one I can restore my backup so my device is as it Was. Is this Possible?

I've had success with Helium, from the play store.
