Unless I am mistaken the apn has zero to do with reception. Apn's are for your mms/data access. I have never come across a phone where the apn had any effect on the actual cellular signal.
They said it was maybe a bad sim card and sending me another. It's barely working on t mobile but they said it needs att sim card is which was what I had until they told me to switch to the t mobile... so I'm waiting for the free sim card they're suppose to be sending me
