Maybe I'm missing something, but wouldn't it be counterproductive to cover the speaker with glass?

Oookayyy... So today my Nilkin protector got a random chip/crack on the side edge. I have no earthly idea how it happened. I didn't drop the phone or anything even remotely rough and just noticed it when I picked it back up. Very odd.

It was driving me nuts so I took it off. It promptly started cracking in half, originating at the original chip.

Ah well. I bought it for the camera protectors anyway and those are still fine.
