Its an old article, but the speed at which sprint does anything it could be it. In checking app permissions the Touch app in our phones does need NFC permission.
Like many mine just said "CheckSe". Perhaps root screws it up. In any event Iddon't believe its anything to worry about, although Ihave frozen it and will delete later.
