I know when building on the nexus 5, I had to get some Qualcomm proprietary drivers I think they were called. Its been a couple of months.

Edit: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/drivers

Do you need those for your device before building? That maybe an issue. I know those are for nexus devices but maybe ur manufacturer has their own as well.

thanks but the kindle is very similar to the gnex its an omap4430 so no qcom stuff needed. thanks anyway cheers steve

I'm still trying another build is nearly finished. i still haven't had the screen working but i have changed to the otterx repo. fingers crossed that it fires up the screen this time. if it doesn't i will post the rom anyway and maybe someone like @androvista could boot it up and check the logs for me and advise me on what I'm missing

WARNING THIS ROM DOESN'T WORK ONLY DOWNLOAD IF YOU WANT TO HELP ME

Make a twrp backup. Wipe and install then reboot. It hangs on black screen but does mount sdcard etc.

any ideas?? its got me stumped. i have tried swapping the boot.img and bootanim, if you boot it up with adb logcat running you see even the touch screen works. im not good with logs i think the answer is in there.
