Let me make the problem extra clear just for ease. I will tap the wifi to turn it on (Either from the notification hot keys or directly from settings). It will pretend to be doings something for a few seconds, and then goes back to being off. It never shows me hotspots. Never ever connects. Nothing. Just turns back off.
So after dealing with this and crawling at a snail's pace with mobile data on my stock 4.3 Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 for several months, I decided it was time to root and ROM my phone because that would TOTALLY fix the problem. Well I was wrong.
I have flashed, two ROMs and three kernels:
The people's ROM + its own kernel (I think) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2013463) -- This didn't work, and I didn't really like the ROM so I looked for another option and found this
Stock 4.3 Rooted + "Wifi fix" kernel Rev 2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2541900) -- I thought I had finally found the answer. But no. This too failed.
And then just a few minutes ago I flashed the first version of the "Wifi fix" kernel listed above. This also has had no effect.
So what do I do now? I can't just NOT have wifi. I'm fed up. Sorry if parts of this seem overly sarcastic and dramatic. It's just that I've been putting off even fixing this for so long, and now that i'm taking steps to fix it, nothing is working like it says it will. I just want wifi. That's all. Ugh.
Is there maybe a newer kernel with wifi fix I can flash? A different ROM? Maybe something totally different I don't know about?
I'll be happy to provide any information needed. Thanks in advance.
