I would say that the seal you get isolating the driver is the main difference. My guess is driver size is less but the isolation means it doesn't need to move as much. More precise and more bass if you want it too normally.

Perfectly good sound with or without cannot expect quality of sound like in cinema but for a phone great. better then samsungs from my expiriance.
