[Q] annoying two cracking noise

I recently noticed hearing two cracking (tapping) noises while working with phone, it occurs sometimes and from earpiece!
what are the possible causes?
I'm on htc desire X / android 4.1.1 / custom rom /

I have the same noise it sounds like a camera focusing, don't know the reason it happens on stock and custom rom.

You have that when you have headphones connected or during normal usage?

normal usage, anyway after not using Tunnelbear app (VPN) i guess it barely happens.

So maybe it's not hardware but software related? Looks like those noises come from this VPN app you are using...

Yes I noticed it's totally software related and only happen when using vpn apps.
