Default [Q]Flashmode disconnects every minute

Hi,

My Xperia Z1 (C6903) (A.0.757) is being weird with USB connection to the computer. I shutdown my phone and put it in flash mode, then went to grab some FTF files online. When I looked at my phone again, it was at the home screen. So I shut it down again and held the cable to the phone port, but in about a minute or 2 disconnects and reboots into the OS. The weird part is the phone never disconnects in the OS.

Code:
 Android version : 4.4.2 / kernel version : 3.4.0-perf-g6f5bf40 / Build number : 14.3.A.0.757
14/038/2014 16:38:00 - INFO - Device disconnected
14/038/2014 16:38:04 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
14/039/2014 16:39:05 - INFO - Device disconnected
14/039/2014 16:39:29 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging on
14/039/2014 16:39:29 - INFO - Connected device : Sony Xperia Z1
14/039/2014 16:39:29 - INFO - Installed version of busybox : N/A
14/039/2014 16:39:29 - INFO - Android version : 4.4.2 / kernel version : 3.4.0-perf-g6f5bf40 / Build number : 14.3.A.0.757

14/041/2014 16:41:22 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
14/042/2014 16:42:23 - INFO - Device disconnected
I switched the charger cables and it did the same with flashmode. I switched ports on my computer and I still have the same problem.

Is my USB port damaged? Does flashmode have auto reboot when idling?

I'm afraid it'll disconnect while flashing, that would be death sentence to my phone.

Did it again and I got this:

Code:
14/049/2014 18:49:56 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
14/050/2014 18:50:56 - INFO - Device disconnected

14/051/2014 18:51:21 - INFO - Connected device : Sony Xperia Z1

14/054/2014 18:54:18 - INFO - Device disconnected
14/054/2014 18:54:22 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
14/055/2014 18:55:22 - INFO - Device disconnected
Notice how it disconnects from flash mode exactly 1 minute.

Have you actually tried flashing something?

No. I was afraid that while flashing it'll cut off and then my phone is unusable. But based off this1 minute cut off time on flashmode, do you still recommend flashing?

This is a new Z1, so I'm not sure if its a defective port or not.

set up the flashing files
wait until flashtool tells you to connect, then connect, it will be fine

It was the same for me. It disconnect after a while. Don't know how long it takes though.

So I prepare the files and w8 for the prompt to connect the phone. That works for me anyway.

OnePlus One Black Sandstone edition 64gb - Stock

Which version flashtool are you using?
I had this issue on an older version.
back then i basically just keep holding the vol down button and proceed flashing.
annoying to do but that was the only way for me.
Didnt have this anymore with the latest version.
