That is because your phone is a branded model & will only load the original country/vendor ROM as they are CID code locked hence your error. When flash via SD you remove any HSPL as first stage of flash hence CID issue of SD flash option ...
Your best option is flashing via usb cable to a pc/notebook with Activesync or the Vista/W7 WMDC6-1 software. First flash HSPL using HSPL4 (HSPL bypasses CID lock) tool then an appropriate ROM.
Go & read through the HD2 wiki as has all the links for ROMs & software tools for flashing plus tips on use.
Do note if you have a USA HD2 T-Mobile (TMOUS) model to be extra careful as can be bricked by wrong radio flashing so do read the wiki FULLY in advance ....
