From Hash Codes Blog Page (The guy who wrote and developed Safestrap): http://blog.hash-of-codes.com/how-to-safestrap/

"DON’T RESTORE A CUSTOM ROM-SLOT BACKUP TO THE STOCK ROM. THIS WILL MOST LIKELY BRICK YOUR PHONE."

Hope this reached you BEFORE you did the deed, especially since you said: " I just want to be clear before I do anything of the sort." Besides, why do you want to install it to the stock slot? If your goal is to have a custom ROM in the stock slot, plenty of folks have just flashed a rom to that slot (AFTER making a backup of the stock ROM) I have yet to see anyone return to stock though I imagine it's possible. Me, I will stick with installing custom ROMs to the SafeStrap Slots (1-4 or 1-2 on a Note 3) I am not that brave, or stupid, depending on the success or failure of the move to determine which of the two I am, lol. Good luck either way.

Actually, that's for an older version and doesn't quite apply anymore. Backups can be moved between slots and the stock slot can even be flash directly with any compatible ROM. But you should read before you do anything, especially considering all this is detailed in the Safestrap thread and its Q/A thread.

Default Mr.

CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP? I'M BRICKED AFTER RESTORING A CUSTOM-ROM BACKUP ON STOCK-ROM SLOT ON SAFESTRAP. Now whatever I try to do to unbrick, I keep getting the error message: "(Bootloader) no such partition, failed .. remote. This is a targa.

---------- Post added at 07:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:43 AM ----------

Help please. I tried to restore a custom backup onto stock rom slot and now this bionic is bricked. In fastboot, nothing will flash. I keep getting the error message "(bootloader) no such partition. Failed ... remote.. blablabla.
Could someone pleaseeeeee help?

Sorry to hear about that, I was in a similar situation recently: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2719676

Although I didn't receive an error message about the bootloader. Ultimately, I had to follow the guide here to get my phone working again: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2559715

Good luck!

***In regards to the OP: My internal SD is running out of space, probably due to all the slots I have activated. I want to do some housekeeping by wiping the Stock slot so I can install Firenote X9...but due to my previous experience I am reluctant. Can someone confirm that it is absolutely safe to do the following?:

1) Wipe Stock slot
2) Keep Slot 1 (just in case)
3) Install a fresh custom ROM to Stock slot, without soft bricking

Thanks for replying but the thread you recommended is basically for samsung phones. Mine is a Motorola Droid Bionic. I still wish that someone would help me salvage this hardbricked phone please. I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

First off you should probably look into forums for your own phone. This is a Samsung Galaxy S4 section. You'll probably need RSDLite or whatever to reflash it from what I remember. But yeah, go look into some different forums, and remember that xda is not the only forum out there also.
