Preventing Tizen Update (possible?)

I have a non-rooted Galaxy Gear and would like to prevent the Tizen update from occurring on the Gear.

I've rooted my Note 3, froze the Samsung Music app, and now control Google Music via the Media Controller app on the gear. Everything is working perfectly.

So is it possible to prevent the Tizen update? I'm assuming I would need to freeze something on my Note 3 in Titanium Backup.

(I also have lots of side loaded Android apps that I don't want to lose, so I really want to just freeze the Gear as-is - I'm very, very happy with exactly the way it is right now.)

yes like Brendo says, as long as you don't connect your watch to Kies, you will be fine.

If you don't update to Tizen, I would make sure you use Titanium Backup or similar on your phone as some apps on the phone may get updates that will assume you have Tizen and then you will need to restore the previous version of the app via TB.

Happened to me this week as MapMyRide updated on the phone and it stopped working with the Gear 1. I had to restore a previous version from TB.

I emailed MapMyRide and they said the new version of the phone app only works with Tizen.

I posted their response here
