Earpiece suddenly failed?

Hello,

I have a new to me Note 2 that suddenly, after a few months, the earpiece just stopped working. The speaker for speakerphone and notifications still works, as well as the headphone jack. Phone is in very good condition and not abused, very strange to have this happen! Is all that's left to do is pay someone for a repair? I also tried going to the diagnostic mode, it does not work there either. Phone is bone stock, never rooted or anything. Any suggestions much appreciated, thank you!

Yes...sadly....if the device is box stock...then the likelihood of software fixes is remote at best...

A repair of hardware may be needed...IMHO

Edit:
I'd check into diagnostic tests a bit more before sending the device for repair...and a factory reset would not hurt in the testing as well...g

Yeah, my wife's n2 did this a few weeks ago. I got her the flex, and I'm trying to deal with Rogers about the issue. : bang-head:

Sorry to hear. Mine suddenly began working again, and has consistently worked over the last 2 weeks or so. Still not a vote of confidence in a phone that's never been dropped or seen water. Love the thing otherwise, can't let it go.
