Default From 4.1.1 to 4.4

So I've neglected my nexus for long enough. To go from 4.1.1 to 4.4 do I just flash a new ROM or do I need to flash a new kernel and firmware first??

Get the factory image, extract it and open the extracted folder, if you're using linux run "flash-all.sh" / windows run "flash-all.bat" while your nexus is connected in FastBoot mode. If you open the script in a text editor you will see that everything is already in it.
