Yes, but not by default.
On another note. The NDC Modem is working great for me on ND8
It's not by default because there's generally no reason to backup/restore your modem. I guess my assumption was that if someone was going to flash a modem that they would already know how to backup the existing one.

Ok this what my phone says when I put cwm on. From there it's useless to choose an option.
