I hate the night mode overlay filter apps. Back in the day when I ran cm7 there was the excellent cm7 render fx option . I would use the red effect for reading at night. Unlike overlays it was crystal clear and good for many uses. Is anyone aware of any way to get this effect on a modern os?

If anyone remember this awesome feature please chime in! Did you love it as much as I did?

I miss this feature too. I was just thinking last night how it saved you from night blindness, reduced eyestrain and didn't spotlight your face in the dark. I would love to see this as a standard on android.

Well, there's at least three people who miss this feature. I had it on my Kindle Fire and it was great for night reading. The overlays just don't cut it. Any chance we'll get it back?

I finally found the solution (for root users)

This is a way to recreate this functionality. CF.Lumen is a godsend for those of us who know the difference between a screen filter and renderfx.
