Can we get video drivers from android-ia repo? Intel releases bay trail images, I think the drivers should be available in their source tree

So After bitlocker problems and running into ways to re partition the drive it became possible but in pre alpha stage. I was working with someone in my office who was trying to get it to work and he concluded that even if it semi succeeded there would be way to get drivers to work or maybe even get visual. We assumed that we would have no control over the touch panel so we would connect a usb hub with a keyboard, mouse, and usb stick with all the files to work but looks like we are not doing something correctly to get anything to write correctly. I even wondered if I could dual boot linux/ubuntu but i havent gotten past the frustration of this plus my computer dying. Ill post up the files as soon as soon as i can. maybe someone can take over my work.

Hi,

im going to get one DV8P soon. It would be cool, if you can try Andy from andyroid dot net (which is basically Android + VirtualBox afaik). It looks like a better solution than genymotions imo.

I don't think Windroy has been mentioned yet. Didn't try it myself though.

I just see a Chinese manufacturer releases Android 4.2 image and dual boot bios for their bay trail tablet. Since the Android image is 32bit, will it help us getting Android to work on our machines?

Hello guys,

here is a Thread in the DELL Support Forum to request a 64bit uefi.
The old 32bit uefi is the problem, if the uefi is switched to 64bit, we could use the Android Rom from https://01.org/android-ia (for bay trail).

More users, more priority on dell side. Please request the update too, and make the thread public!

thanks dr4g0n.

Good find, I think we need to push Dell on this issue, because they are already planning to re-release 64-bit versions of the Venue 8 and 11 with no plans to update the old ones.

thats the point, why we all should buy a new tablet with 64bit, when a simple update solves the problem...
maybe its dell politics to make more money, and ignore the community... thats bad
