So I just got my Kindle Fire HD 2012 32 GB from Amazon.

Before I install CM11, I have a few small questions...

1. I really like the Dolby HD sound feature/improvement. Is this still usable/enabled within CM11 (or a similar alternative)?

2. I have firmware 7.4.9. Can I get any trouble using the install tutorial from the CyanogenMod wiki?

3. I read somewhere that CM11 runs slow on the KFHD compared T9 FireOS. Is this true?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: just fyi, yes I have a fastboot/recovery cable.

I would downgrade the os to a earlier version as I have seen issues with people rooting the latest os. I also believe cm 11 is if anything faster than amazon os. I recommend it, I have used it myself for over a year and have no complaints.
Dolby is a bit iffy, I think hashcode tried to do some work on it but I don't remember how far it went because its closed source. I just use viper4android with cm 11 and its probably better than Dolby enhancements.
