Default Proximity sensor?

So... I have a question for all you running an AOSP ROM...

Does your proximity sensor turn off the phone when you're in call...

Mine... Does not...

I am trying to either find a workaround (other than the power button) or... Figure out if I have to disassemble the phone to try and clean it...

None of the programs with a 'pocket mode' work for me either...

Any input would be appreciated...
