poo706 presents... LIQUIDSMOOTH - UNOFFICIAL

Question
What, no snazzy name for your ROM?
Answer
It's virtually identical to LiquidSmooth. You can usually dirty flash back and forth between official and unofficial.

Question
Virtually identical? So what's different?
Answer
  • Unified EXT4/F2FS (INCLUDED STOCK LS KERNEL IS EXT4 ONLY, IT'S UP TO YOU TO FLASH A F2FS KERNEL IF NEEDED)
  • DeltaJen ROM update patches
  • Advanced Backup/Restore (details)
  • SlimKat APNs
  • CyanogenMod Calculator
  • Heads up notifications for system apps
  • Scrolling cache disabled
  • Navigation bar can be disabled without enabling PIE
  • Launcher icon for Viper4Android
  • Removed Dash Clock, cLock, Apollo, Sound Recorder, Kernel Tweaker, and Liquid Updater
Question
What's DeltaJen?
Answer
ROM upgrade patches that are usually less than 10 MB. The /system partition will not be wiped. Unchanged files, files you changed, files you added, and files you removed will be all be ignored.
NOTE: You MUST be on a specific UNOFFICIAL LIQUIDSMOOTH build to use DeltaJen. For example, 10/24 to go to 10/29. You CAN'T use DeltaJen to go from 10/19 to 10/29, but you CAN go from 10/19 to 10/24, then to 10/29.

Question
I have MMS issues. Can you do anything about that?
Answer
SlimKat's APNs are included. If you still have troubles, see this: http://xdaforums.com/android/software/tool-verizon-mms-apn-patch-t2833914.

Question
What gapps should I use?
Answer
I don't think it matters. I recommend Google Apps Minimal Edition: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2779598

Disclaimer:
I'm not responsible for your device blowing up, yadda yadda yadda. I do a minimal amount of testing before releasing to ensure that I can dirty flash on my EXT4 toroplus and boot without issue. I do my best to not release broken builds, but I run a pretty minimal setup (ie no hover, themes, etc) and won't test everything. ART and F2FS support will be untested as well. As always make a nandroid just in case.

Are these going to be f2fs or an option for one? I ask because I see you hanging in Smitty's thread. Thanks for sharing!

My builds will be ext4. However, I created a Windows tool yesterday to convert gnex ROMs to F2FS: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=53618363&postcount=121 . It uses the kernel from the 6/14 F2FS LiquidSmooth build that rkpeterson made. When I get some confirmation that it's working like it should, I'll add a link to the tool in the OP.

Am I right in assuming your tool still has the fstrim problem, I.e.there it's none? The kernel want the only thing that was changed for f2fs I thought...

I could be wrong, but I've gathered that you need vold commits for trimming on f2fs. So yeah, the tool doesn't do that. Although I thought I read that there were problems even with the vold commits.

Yes, apparently so, hopefully a dev will figure that out before my flash gets full!

I never could send 3g on the test build. I've given up. I've come to terms I'm down to 3 or 4 roms that send mms properly. All the devs know about it. Some people have it some don't.

Well there's a new ROM I'm testing
that's going to be coming out a day or two
Where MMS works pretty good.
To clarify I don't mean this rom :D

Oh, I was under the impression that everyone was good with MMS on the test build. So yeah, my 6/24 unofficial should match the test build as far as MMS goes.
