Question [Q] To encrypt, or not to encrypt?

I am considering encrypting the AT&T HTC One M8.
Is it worth it to do this? Will it conflict with any apps, exposed framework, etc I might have installed?
Will it cause any really noticeable lag?

What are the cons to doing this?

I am a VERY paranoid person. I have disabled CarrierIQ and installed the xposed framework with the only module I have installed is XPrivacy. I don't want any apps to know my location, etc. I don't want the NSA to get their grubby little hands on anything I can prevent them from getting.

It should be ok encrypting it. The downside is that if you want to un-encrypt your phone, this will involve a factory reset, meaning you will lose all data.
