Hi guys,

I am now on my 6th Galaxy S5 due to various sensor/build quality issues. Finally I got a handset working fine, however it seems there may still be a problem.

I do not want to exchange it again if it is a product 'characteristic' if you like, and was wondering if you guys can help.

At full volume you can sometimes here a bit of distortion/crackling from the ear piece speaker (NOT the loud speaker at the back of the phone).

I don't have anything to compare it with and my Galaxy S4 doesn't do this (only ever so slightly, if anything).

If I reduce the volume it is greatly reduced but is still present.

Does anyone else have this. Can they test theres at full volume and test it out for me please?

TIA

I just tried it during a phone call and my phone does not have any distortion.
It could perhaps also be caused by a low signal producing white noise, just something for you to take into consideration.

Thanks, it seems to be on all calls - even pre-recorded messages like when you dial 150 on EE.

Its kind of like the speaker is rattling at certain pitches of the voice on the other end. I've compared it with the S4 and the S4 is crisp with the same. However the volume is less on the S4 than the S5 too (when set at full volume on both phones).

Hi, this will seem dumb, but try to put your mouth on the ear speaker and blow in it and suck out.

This will move the speaker cone and chances are it will put it back in place.

Good luck. It worked for me.
