I have tried to first uninstall 1.0, but no change. Reinstalling 1.0 works like a charm.

Can you please advise?

I had the same issue. I was able to resolve it with the following:

In the Tizen IDE go to File -> Import.
Under the Tizen folder choose "Web Projects and Widget file"
Choose the 'Select widget file' file option and browse to the calculator file from the zip file
Click to finish the import.

Once the widget is imported you should see it in your Project Explorer
Select your watch in the Connection Explorer
Right click on the SimpleCalculatorFree project and select 'Run As -> Tizen Wearable Web Application'
I did this and the calculator displayed on my watch. I went to my apps and there was an icon for the calculator.
I have the advanced math functions now.

Hope this helps

you have to make sure you have usb debug enabled (on watch under 'about gear') and updated drivers installed on the pc.
