I'm using the TWRP recovery, if that might make a difference ... but I don't want to play with recoveries in order to test this.

PS: Is there an app called "Kernel Tweaker", or is that just one of the settings sections for the Liquid ROM?
.
I tried but I couldn't get it to work in Carbon either.

I don't really know how much a recovery affects the function a ROM - I just happened to be on CWM recovery at the time. I have Liquid running with no real issues, although TWRP recovery is recommended for that ROM. I've also tried PHILZ recovery without issue.

I agree, clarifying that force fast charge can apply to not only ac chargers, but any source (usb3 and 2, potentially) that can supply more than 500ma. The phone should charge faster with the kernel-allowed bigger feed than if limited to 500. If I read it right!

Exclamation Latest kernel + latest CM11 nightlies

After a week or two of using the latest CarbonROM + the latest Bl4CKB1RD kernel (quite happily I may add), I decided just for fun to give the latest official CM11 nightlies a whirl. Everything was fine until I tried loading up the latest B14CKB1RD. Then - after a super-long boot sequence, I was greeted by a black screen, no mattter what I did (the capacitive keys would light up when I pressed the Home button, though). I also tried some of the older versions of the kernel, same deal. So clearly they did something in the latest nightlies that gets broken when you use this kernel, which is a shame. FWIW it worked just fine with the nightly from 05/26.

Anyway, back to CarbonROM + the B14KB1RD -- I like the active notifications & the Dark theme a la DarkSlim in that ROM better anyway...

Thanks. Just so you know, the exact same thing is happening with the latest OmniToad release, where they moved to 4.4.3. So looks like maybe something gone awry in the latest AOSP code? (Just guessing, I have no idea...) I used the TeamApexQ version of the kernel, of course, but I get the exact same black-screen-after-a-long-boot as with the latest CM11 nightlies.
