Hi all,

plz do not stone me but I'm really not sure how to flash this ROM.

I'm on Sweet ROM V11 (4.1.2) and would like to flash KK (this ROM).

What prequisites do I need?

1. new Kernel (RAW Kernel r6)
2. new recovery or can I use philz with the RAW Kernel r6?

If I'm right I then need to backup my current system, wipe the this that need to be wiped, install the zip and the needed gapps and then I am done?

Thnx in advance!

Sorry, this post wasn't intended to sound / come across as an ETA request... As I follow many different devices around our house (and mates devices) and know from a Dev's point of view just how annoying this can be... As I find I fend off people asking the same thing on one of the other sites/devices that was popular and now has a smaller following, so more pressure on a single dev...

No, I merely meant to see if C-Rom is still alive and well, as I love this rom... And noticed from the official C-Rom forums that it appears dead there too, and other users are asking same question. Whether development has stopped or not...??

But was at work, and had to type quickly as was about to leave... so apologies if it came out that way... (wasnt the intention).

Cheers, Lister
LoL no worries man. Seeing us as free users I'm glad u shared the same sentiments. Cheers n keep up the good work! Once in a while it might be good to 'nudge' a bit. LoL

Hello @_Lexxington

There is a sticky guide in the forum for you to check all the how's but basically your perception is already correct. You can :

1. Flash @forest1971 's CMV.5 kernel_Slim.zip or raw kernel 6.

2. Reboot to RECOVERY again.

3. Do all wipes except Sd card.

4. FLash Rom + Gapps n you r done.

Note : forest kernel use phils recovery while Raw use either TWRP/ CWM (haven't flashed it so I dunno, sorry) so it's your preference.

@vkky_
Scratching head here.
OK check system settings - sounds - ringtone
What volume when you chck it?

Check that volume and notifications not linked and one on a low volume.

You may also want to check you do not have quite times enabled.

Shalom and hope this helps as this Rom is excellent, john

Info 2 Meh. Kernel problem.

So i flashed the forest kernel. i don't like it. it lags a lot. Systemui crashed a lot. Phone overheats a lot. takes forever to charge the battery. and many more problems. Anyways if anyone can give me the kernel that came with v7.1 that would be great.
Thanks.

The ROM is worth it I think
If you do a dirty flash of 7.1 I think you will find all your data there but the 7.1 kernel in place of the other one.

Shalom and hope all goes well, john
