LG has announced the "successors" to our tablet. They feature worse specs in every aspect, that means we have nothing to upgrade to!
LG has took a great step with the original (our) G Pad and made a great premium tablet, but because it didn't sell enough they decided to go with the samsung way to produce a crappy tablet with a cheap (yet overpriced) price.

REQUOTE: ...did not sell enough - That's their own doing. When it was first announced, I *really* wanted one of these and would have happily paid a premium full asking price on day 1, but up here in Canada this was total vapourware for the first 6 months of its release, and is only just recently available from our big electronic retailers as web-purchase only for $399, still vapourware if you want to see and hold the device, not available in-store, and I can assure you I'm NOT going to cough up that kind of coin sight unseen for something that by the time it became available to me was pretty much a year and a half old on specs.

For the current selling price, I'll be able to get one of the new Samsung 8.4" tabs with better-in-every-respect specs.

LG did this to themselves. If you want to sell your product, you have to actually make it available. Samsung has that figured out, I can walk into *any* local store, drugstores included, and physically see, try and purchase a full range of their plethora of devices. Despite *begging* LG via email for months, I was never able to actually get one of these in any way, and now that I can, it's way too late. Again I say, they did it themselves and really should think long and hard about their marketing and supply strategy.

Cheers
TRJB

Well, that makes me all the happier I bought my G Pad 8.3. It really is a great device for the price, and at any price really. Now if I could just get rid of LG's bloated version of Kit Kat...

When I heard about the LG10.1 I was like " I'm going to sell my 8.3 then buy that " but when I saw the specs😪 I'm📱 happy with my 8.3 cheap with competitive specs!

Hey guys,
LG's new tablets may be worst than ours but their new UI is gorgeous! And as the 8.3 has a better hardware I bet it could run that ROM pretty smothly.
Can anyone make a port of that ROM for our device?

That would be cool. I might get a 7" model for my mom. Either this or tab 4 7.0.

Default LG G Pad 8.3 V510 GPE

If anyone is still looking for the LG V510 GPE you can find them at Expansys-USA for $224. Just bought one after seeing the sub par offerings for the new line of G pads.
