if the lg g3 was 1080p i might've considered purchasing. the extra resolution just turned me away instantly.

Probably battery or ram reasons. The screen will require greater resources and is arguably beyond the observable difference anyway.

You can uninstall all the apps branded lg and reinstall them from the update centre.
This includes quickmemo+, calculator, quick remote, downloads.
Strangely some apps available in the update centre cannot be uninstalled.
It's weird.
