Any current G3 owners try to drop the resolution to 1080p?

It shouldn't. It won't help with battery because a DPI change won't stop those pixels from firing, it'll just scale differently. And unless you're playing GPU intensive games it won't mean a damn thing to the device's performance.

Try it on your laptop. Change the resolution. Won't do anything of that sort.
