NP. I'd REALLY like to get this working, so I can take advantage of the upgraded still photos.

Install by extracting the media_profiles.xml from zip and copy/replace to /system/etc/
make sure the permissions on the file is set to "rw- r-- r--" than reboot

ill also link a stock.zip with the stock file just in case you dont like it and want to revert
followed the rules and it worked perfectly FINE.
40mbits on 4k video and 30mbits on 1080p, but windows and sony vegas confirm only 30 frames per second recording.

Ok, so I got it to work. Atleast... I think i did. I had to use the premium root explorer app. The one that's $3.99 in the play store. None of the free ones would work. I followed the directions and my phone rebooted. I just wish there was a way to confirm that it actually installed correctly.

I used ES File Explorer, worked fine.

You could record a 4k video and check on your PC what mbits value you have. mine jumped from 30 to 40mbits.

So I tried using the OP's version and Bunchies' version. I still only get 1080@30fps with both of them.

Yep, verified with VideoSpec both mods only do 30fps on 1080p but it does bump the bit rate for both 4K and 1080p to 40mbps
